Corwin Family Visit:
Three of my favorite people came up to visit us the weekend of the 16th. They came up specifically to help me register for baby Mamich. They are such great friends...how I wish we could see them more often. Chelsea (and Rease) were such a great help when it came to our 3 hour Babies R Us registering extravaganza!!! The place was a MAD-HOUSE, but we managed to survived. I could not have registered successfully without Chelsea. She told me what were essentials and what was really not needed. She also gave me some great tips such as: resiter for many different bottle and pacifier brands; you never know which one baby will favor. I seriously would never have thought of that!!! She and Chris have done such a wonderful job with Rease, I knew she would only be giving me the best advice. Thank you guys for comig out. I really appreciate it more than you know!!!
After having registered, Chelsea and I ran out to the Lighthouse Outlet Mall because she had needed to get a few onsies for Rease. We were there for Rease, but I ended up having a field day for baby Mamich!!! There was a big clearence sale + 20% of almost everything, Jackpot!!! I got baby Mamich 2 onesises, 2 pair of shorts, 2 pairs of pants, a fleece sleeper for when she gets older, 4 1-piece outfits (2 with ruffles), and 5 shirts! Had I have paid full price for everything it would have cost me $176.00; however, I walked out of the store paying only $59.39! Woo Hoo! I get such a joy from finding bargains. I LOVE everything I had gotten as well! What a great feeling.
I must say, I was a little nervous to see how Frankie would react to an infant again, a more moblie infant this time, and he did a GREAT job! He would just smell and give little kisses to Rease. He really didn't even get that jealous of their dog that came to visit as well! It took quite a huge weight off of my back seeing him do so well with Rease and Molly. I can't wait to see how he does with our little one. :)
Thank you again Chris and Chelsea!
Naperville Visit and Invites:
On Sunday afternoon (January 17th) Chuck and I thought maybe we could get the final pieces of the bedding set. We had called to make sure the pieces were in stock and they were! Since we would be heading out to Naperville we thought we might try our luck at getting an appointment at Stork Snapshots for our 3D ultrasound. Being that we were calling the day of, I didn't think we were going to have any luck. Much to my surprise they had two available appointment times! So our day was set: baby bedding and 3D ultrasound. It was going to be a baby-ful day! We headed out to the Land of Nod Outlet and got all the peices we needed. While in the store we did some browsing and found these little flower hooks we liked as well as this white easel that Chuck HAD to HAVE!!! He said, "Since I won't be able to play lego's with _________ we will paint!" I am not very artistic and hear about it all the time from the hubby. This will be something they can do together during daddy/daughter time. It was a very successful Land of Nod trip!
We then Scooted over to Stork Snapshots for a sneak peek of our little baby girl. It was truly AMAZING!!! I feel as if I have cheated and know what she looks like already... but I do feel a stronger bond to her. It makes it all feel a bit more real. The clarity of the pictures was just astonishing to me. We were told the best time to go to get the clearest oictures was between weeks 27 and 32. We were there when I was 27.5 weeks. Perfect! During the appointment, we were alos told that she is currently breech again. Of course, I go into this panic and cannot wait to get home to google when the baby's head should start turning down towards the birth canal. I got home and discovered that the average baby will rotate the correct way between 28 and 34 weeks. Phew, I can rest easy for a while.
After the ultrasound appointment, Chuck and I went to my parent's house to work on the invitations and get them sent out. We stuffed the envelopes, had an awesome assembly line going, and got them all addressed in probably the matter of 2 hours. It was pretty great. I absolutely LOVE the invations and how they turned out!
Glucose Screening Test
On MLK day I went to go and have my glucose screening test done. I went there as early as possible because I had to fast 8 hours before the test. I figured the easiest way to accomplish this would be to go after I had woken up. If I had to fast in the middle of the day, baby and I both would not be happy campers. I got to the doctors and right away they took my blood, no big deal; they really didn't even have to take that much. The phlobotomist then gave me this 10oz. glucose drink and said I had 5 minutes to drink it. At first, I was like, "This isn't that bad at all!" I had fruit punch flavor and it really wasn't THAT sweet. As I got about halfway through the drink, I felt like there was a rock in my stomach.... It got soooo sweet, I didn't know if I was going to be able to finish it! Of course I did, but it was not as easy as I had thought it was going to be. I then had to wait in the waiting room for an hour. I brought with me this book about healthy sleep habits for babies; it was terible, but did make the 1 hour go by pretty quickly. After the hour was up, I went back, got blood drawn from the same arm and was on my way home. I was told I should know in a day or two the results. Well, Thursday rolled around, and still no call. I called them and they said they usually only call if there was a problem, but that they would go and get my chart just to check. Yay! No chance of diabetes!!! I was pretty concerned because it does run in my family, but we are safe for now!
Shower Mix Up
SO the day the shower invites arrived at peoples' houses my mom was informed that there was going to be a little problem with the date. My sister Katie would be unable to make the shower due to work. I guess she has this meeting she is in charge of the day of the shower and had known about it since Thanksgiving, so there was no way she could get out of it. Ugh. The only reason it was a big issue to just change the date is because EVERYONE had just gotten their invites! They were all sent out. To change the date would be a HUGE undertaking! After much thought, I decided it would be best to have my sister there and we would just send out postcards to notify people invited of the date change. The postcards should be arriving soon. They are due to be delivered to my mom's house on Febuary 1st. We will send them out ASAP! Be looking for them in your mailboxes. The new date will be March 7th, 2010. It will be held at the same time and place. I really hope to see everyone there and do apologize for any inconvience this may have caused anyone.
On a Happy Note...
I am officially in my 3rd trimester!!!! As I am writing this, I am currently at 29 weeks! I cannot believe how quickly this pregnancy has gone. It is also very hard to believe that in 11 short weeks I will be a mommy and we will have this permanant addition to our family. As crazy as it sounds, it still has not hit me that we are going to have this new little person in our lives. My belly is big, I see her moving in there, I feel her moving in there, and it still just seems so surreal. Maybe because I really do not FEEL much different. I have had quite the smooth pregnancy. I had, for the vast majority, felt like myself. I have been told by friends that it will not hit me until she is here at home. Even in the hospital it is somewhat surreal. We shall see!
I am currently on the hunt for the pefect glider for the nursery. I want it to be the green we have in her room, it is much harder to find than I would have thought. The biggest problem is, is that stores do not carry a huge supply of gliders for you to try out. You have to order many of them on-line and it is hard for me to purchase something pretty expensive without seeing it or feeling how comfy it will be. If anyone knows of a good place to look for one, please let me know!
I truly apologize for this taking so long for me to write. I love to blog, but have not had the time with basketball games having started. I will try to make more time, and not slack ever as badly as I did in putting up this post. Hope all is well with everyone!!!
The pictures are amazing of the baby. She is so cute already!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked the cake on my blog : ) It is my favorite one so far. I cannot WAIT to get started on your shower cake!! It's going to be adorable (if I do say so myself. Lol). I cannot believe how clearly you can see little Miss Mamich in those pictures! And she's smiling already; always a good sign! Can't wait to see you guys in a few weeks!
