Christmas 2009

Christmas this year was absolutely amazing! It was nice to see family and make some memories.

On Christmas Eve Chuck and I went over to my parent's house to visit with my immediate family (mom, dad, and sisters) and exchange gifts. It was nice to spend some quality time with just them on Christmas. We really have never done that before. It had always been rush to Grandmas or rush somewhere else; we finally got to just enjoy each other. Later that day, we went to my aunt Cathy's house (my dad's sister) and had Christmas Eve dinner with that side of the family. It was an absolutely wonderful time. We played some games, watched some movies, and ate some delicious food. It was a long day, but an enjoyable one.

My favorite present Chuck got...

The Cousins on my Dad's side... You can really see baby Mamich in this one!!!

For Christmas day, we had Chuck's immediate family (mom, dad, sister) over at our house and had some "Famous Mamichonni's Pizza!" For those of you that do not already know, Chuck and I are pretty serious about our homemade pizza. We ate some delicious food and visited with them for a few hours. Chuck's dad even helped out with the nursery for a little bit! Thanks Mr. Mamich!!! For Christmas dinner it was planned that we would go to my Aunt Connie's house in New Lenox, IL for the Klosak family Christmas. We left and made it to about Merrillville when we decided to turn back because the expressway was so terrible!! It was so icy! There were spin-outs everywhere. We finally came to the conclusion that it wasn't worth risking our safety, especially with a little one on the way, and turned around to come back home. I was disappointed because I do look forward to seeing that side of the family, but had to make the best decision for my family. Chuck and I spent the rest of the night watching football. :)

During this Christmas holiday I had been thinking a lot that this will be our last Christmas, just Chuck and I. Next year we will have this amazing little 8 and a half month old little girl to share in all the joy with. Christmas is just so magical to children. I cannot wait to start new traditions next year!

I have been feeling really good actually for a long time now! I feel her kicking/punching all of the time and love it! I do have like this "pulling" sensation in my lower abdomen though. It feels like a pulled muscle. It must just be because my belly is stretching. Makes sense, right? Other than that I cannot complain one bit. When I am laying on my side and want to switch over to the other side, it does take a little bit of extra effort now. It's kind of funny. The nursery is continuing to get done. The walls are all painted and the trim work is all done thanks to Chuck and his dad. :) Chuck still has to finish painting the stripes on the wall, which he plans on doing New Years Day. We already have 2 stripes up and they look AMAZING!!! The furniture should be in this week. I cannot wait to set it all up!!! I was telling Chuck we still need to get the mattress for the crib and the crib skirt. I was wanting to get them before the furniture gets here so her room can be that much closer to being done, but Chuck keeps reminding me that we have about 4 months left. We still have time. It is just so hard to wait for some things....lol. I also keep reminding him that she will be here in LESS than 4 months!! 109 days to be exact; who's counting?

I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Christmas with their families!!!
