Maternity Pants

Well, it is finally that time. I bought my first pair of maternity pants on Sunday morning, Ugh.

Chuck and I were on vacation with two of our friends (Krista and Kyle) over the weekend. We decided to go out to dinner Saturday night, so when we arrived to the hotel we separated to get showered and ready. I was putting on the pair of dark jeans I fit in just last week, and they wouldn't even zipper! Not even close! I could not get it to budge!!! Needless to say, I did not have any bigger jeans I could change into. Thank goodness my sweater was long enough to cover the zipper all the way! I sat throughout the whole dinner with my pants unbuttoned and unzipped. Talk about being completely uncomfortable and embarrassed.

The next morning, Chuck and I woke up early and found the closest store that would have maternity clothes, mind you we were in a city we were very unfamiliar with. We found a Target and marched on back to the maternity section. I found a really nice pair of blue jeans, and boy were they comfy!!! I then questioned why I have been torturing myself with these tight, uncomfortable pants these past weeks.

This weekend it is my mission to find nice maternity work pants. I think I am going to try the Motherhood outlet store in Michigan City at the Lighthouse Mall.

I have only gained about 3 pounds, but I guess it must all be in my belly where baby is! I definitely feel the roundness; it is still a little hard to see it though. If I grew out of my jeans in one week, I can only imagine that I will being showing soon! Yay! I want to get out of this feeling "fat" stage and into the feeling "pregnant" stage.

I purchased my first pair of maternity pants at 15 weeks and 3 days. Another milestone!

  1. Your belly will be larger than life in no time. Enjoy bending over, tying your shoes, painting your nails, and shaving your legs! Just kidding, you have a while before all of that sets in. I remember wearing my pants unbuttoned and unzipped for a long time. Try the Bella Band too if you don't want to spend a bunch of money on maternity clothes right away. Have fun at the outlet, I wish I was there to go with you!
