18 Week Appointment

This appointment by far was the most boring appointment thus far! First of all, Chuck didn't come with me because he had to work. I knew nothing "fun" was going to happen so I didn't push the issue. So, I was waiting in the waiting room by myself for an hour! There was only one doctor working, grrrr.

Finally my name got called and all of the usual: weight, pee, and blood pressure. Everything was a-okay! The doctor then came in before the nurse had listened to the baby's heartbeat, so she told him, "All that's left to do is listen to baby." He sat down, asked if I had any questions. I responded with the usual "No." He then felt my belly and said everything feels and measures as it should for being 18 weeks. He then said they will need to see me again in 4 weeks and walked out. I was thinking in my head, "I didn't get to hear the baby!!!" He was on his phone when I walked out of the room to get him. The nurse finally came out of the other room and I asked her if I could hear the baby. She said, "He didn't do it for you?!?!" "Nope." She said men just have a one-track mind, and just because he is a doctor that doesn't exclude him! I really like her a lot! I could tell he just wanted to leave an go home. It was like 5:10 and they closed at 5:00. Jerk!

So needless to say, I got to hear baby Mamich loud and clear! 145 bpm. Yay! I also received my 20 week ultrasound script! I called and set up an appointment for November 27th!!! We will finally find out the gender. Just a few more days.... Something to be grateful for on Thanksgiving!

I have been feeling the baby move for about a week now. It is so hard to describe what it feels like, but when I am sitting still, I definitely feel something. It almost feels as if there is this little bug in my belly doing somersaults. The doctor said in a few weeks I will be feeling the baby a lot more and more noticeably! I cannot wait!

I suppose my next post will be after the 20 week ultrasound! :)
